The village of Winwick: rural England at its best - a small community in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside
Northamptonshire is often referred to as England’s best-kept secret – and with a population of just 40 people, our rural community is so small, we are frequently omitted from maps.
But what we lack in size, we more than make up for with beautiful countryside and remarkable community spirit.
Hello. I'm Trevor Sherman. Thanks for stopping by. Welcome to my personal perspective of Winwick.

There are four groups within Winwick - each with their own distinctive roles, responsiblities and personnel. Two are related to the Church and two to the Village.
Following on from a meeting in the Church in April 2026, a one-pager was issued to clarify these roles.
Guardians of Winwick is a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and safety of residents in the village of Winwick. Through community-led initiatives and fundraising, they work to ensure that vital resources are available locally, helping the village remain a safe and connected place to live. In January 2026 the group replaced the village’s Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), which was originally installed over a decade ago and had reached the end of its serviceable life. AEDs are critical pieces of emergency equipment that can help save lives during a cardiac arrest by delivering a controlled electric shock to restore a normal heart rhythm.
We are grateful for the grant of £1,390 awarded to us from the Winwick Wind Farm Fund by the Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) as a contribution toward thye cost of the cost of the AED.
Here’s a September date for our diaries. Our Churchwarden Bruce, plus The Guardians of Winwick, would like to invite us all to a September Social in The Church on Sunday September the 7th 2025 from 7 p.m.
The Winwick Church & Village Fete 2022 was held on the afternoon of Sunday 4th September 2022.

There was no Fete in 2024.
In March 2021 we were awarded a prestigious Rose of Northamptonshire Award for the Winwick Warbler.
See all the fun things we did in the village to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Weekend 2nd to 5th June 2022.
